Thanks Bill, at the time I took part in that interview I wasn't a very savvy observer of international news, it was really being involved in this, which was my first interview, that got me into the "counter-narrative" I had no intentions whatsoever to discuss Chinese politics or stand up and fight for China. All I wanted to do was show photos and tell stories about my bike rides in China, which happened to include Xinjiang, I had no idea it would lead me to a path where I have tens of thousands of followers and would become a published author as well as a minor TV celebrity.

What I'm finding now is that western media won't engage with me, they will ridcule or attempt to belittle me, they accuse me of being paid or of being coerced, neither of which is true and they have never at any stage been able to verify that I've told a lie - they would be lying if they did.

It's a very strange reality out there with massive media misinformation and a definite playback of the Geobbels theory if you make the lie big enough and repeat it often enough it becomes the truth. This seems to be where we are now, there is no alternative news allowed and even platforms such as Trwiiter, YouTube, Facebook and to a lesser extent Medium are censoring those who are against the narrative - chilling indeed!
