It’s a good question, I guess what I mean is that I felt it was the world’s most respected, and certainly that was the feeling growing up. Obviously when we’re young we believe what our media tells us, as we enter the “real world” and I’m going to be honest here and say that this didn’t happen to me until much later in life, we learn that our perceptions don’t always refelct the reality. I can’t say that the BBC was wrong, because I wasn’t critical enough in my view of them, I can say, I’m certain they weren’t as vindictive and deliberately misleading as they currently are. As for India, I have no comment, I know many Indians (my son was married into an Indian family) but I can’t say I know much about India, its politics or its culture.
