Hi Jan, it’s my pleasure to reply to you and I hope we can keep it civil

Are you aware that the US coastguard is currently operating in both the Persian Gulf and the South China Sea? I’ve seen videos of US coastguard cutters operating off Aberdan in the Persian Gulf, I wonder what they’re doing there — I haven’t been to Aberdan personally, but I am a very unusual person in that I was conceived there when my father worked for BP in what was then Persia and I still have many contacts in the region through that time through my family connections: they wonder what the US coastguard are doing there

If you’re aware of this, can you please explain how that activity defends the US coast and what benefit it brings to US citizens? If you aren’t aware, please check and see if I’m correct.

I’ve also personally seen a US coastguard ship off the coast of Hainan Island — how did it get there and what authority does it have to be there?
